MISSOURI CITY, Texas—A Fort Bend County teacher was in jail Friday, charged with sexual assault of a child.

Rebecca Ann Bramlett, 33, was a language arts teacher at Baines Middle School.

She was arrested overnight in Galveston and is being held on $500,000 bond.

The arrest stemmed from a traffic stop last week.  A Fort Bend County deputy pulled Bramlett over in Fresno and noticed she had a teen inside the car with her.

Bramlett reportedly told the officer the teen was her boyfriend.

Investigators say the teacher – who is married with two school-aged children – had a relationship with the teen for several months and sometimes took the boy to her home.

Investigators said the teen’s family is being somewhat cooperative.

Fort Bend ISD said Bramlett had been a teacher there since 2006.  She resigned from her position Tuesday.

Baines administrators sent letters out to parents to address the situation Friday.
