HOUSTON -- Authorities are questioning a juvenile about the fetus found aboard a Continental jet at Bush Intercontinental Airport on Sunday afternoon.

The unidentified girl is 14 years old.

Police said Monday afternoon that preliminary autopsy results indicate the infant was stillborn.

The lifeless fetus was discovered in the trash disposal in one of the plane’s bathrooms by a cleaning crew, according to the Houston Police Department.

Flight 433 from New York’s LaGuardia Airport arrived at Gate C-18 of Terminal C at Bush IAH about 4:45 p.m. Sunday. Officials said all of the passengers disembarked the plane and that the cleaning crew did not arrive until about two hours later.

A member of the cleaning crew found the fetus in one of the rear bathrooms of the plane.

The FBI and HPD will wait for the complete autopsy report to determine if a crime was committed.
