Lawsuit that exposed DA e-mails goes to court

The lawsuit that exposed embarrassing e-mails inside the Harris County District Attorney’s office has finally gone to trial.
A jury heard opening statements Wednesday in the civil lawsuit filed against the county by Sean and Erik Ibarra.
The brothers claim that back in 2002, sheriff’s deputies barged into their home without probable cause and wrongfully arrested them.
It was their lawyer’s investigation into the case that brought to light the racist and pornographic e-mails found on the work computer of former Harris County DA Chuch Rosenthal.
Rosenthal resigned last Friday.
