Man found dead in UTA student's room

10:40 AM CST on Tuesday, February 5, 2008

By Kimberly Durnan / Dallas Morning News

Police at the University of Texas at Arlington are continuing the investigation into the death of a 20-year-old man found dead in an apartment owned by the school.

Quinton Lamb was found dead in an apartment in the 600 block of Summit Avenue about 10 p.m. Monday, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s Web site. A cause of death was not available Tuesday morning.

Lamb was visiting his girlfriend, a UTA student who lived at the University-owned Meadow Run Apartments, said Rick Gomez, assistant chief for the UTA Police Department. Lamb was not a student at UTA, he said.

The girlfriend had left the apartment for work and when she returned, she found the door had been deadbolted, assistant chief Gomez said. She called Lamb’s parents who used a crowbar to pry open the door.

Lamb’s body was found in the living room, according to the medical examiner’s Web site. No signs of trauma were visible, police said. The girlfriend, whose name was not released, called police around 10 p.m.
