Thieving trio takes $16,000
07:15 AM CST on Friday, January 25, 2008
HOUSTON -- A trio of thieves got away with $16,000 during a northwest Houston robbery late Thursday night.
They hit the Food Fair on Bingle just before closing time.
Luckily, it was all caught on tape by the store's surveillance cameras.
HPD said one of the suspects walked in around 11:50 p.m., pretending to buy something. He was talking on a cell phone, and apparently that call was to two other men who were waiting outside in the parking lot.
Investigators said the two men walked in with guns drawn. One took the cashier, and the other took the store's mananger and led him to the safe.
All three men got away on foot.
