Veterans treated to hunting, fishing trips
05:30 PM CST on Saturday, November 10, 2007
Some of the veterans receiving treatment at the Brooke Army Medical Center were out having fun this weekend in the marshes of El Campo.
The 18 veterans were taking part in Hunts for Heroes.
It’s a program where guides take wounded vets out for free fishing and hunting trips.
Organizers said, even though hunting season is only about a week old, they’ve taken more than 200 veterans on the trips.
