A 101-year-old mansion in the Heights is history.
A crew tore down the Doyle Manson on Heights Boulevard Wednesday afternoon.
Although the structure was in disrepair, neighbors had argued and fought to keep it, but were not successful.
The story of the Doyle Mansion began five years after drillers first discovered oil near Houston.
A developer bet that building the house would earn him a lot of money.
But now another developer, Harry James, believed that tearing it down would lead to profit.
He had been buying properties all along Heights Boulevard, tearing down homes and replacing them with what he calls “Victorian Classics.”
