Man dies after car plunges from parking garage

A man was killed when his car plummeted several stories from a parking garage Monday afternoon. The vehicle smashed through a concrete wall and fell onto a roof of a building below.
The tragic scene played out at the Houston House Apartments near Fannin and Leeland in downtown Houston. Video from Air 11 showed a hold in the wall of the garage's upper levels where apparently the car punched through and fell several stories before landing upside down on a roof below.
Eyewitnesses described hearing a loud crashing sound before noticing the car was falling.
Authorities said the car actually backed through the wall before falling about five stories to the roof below. Investigators would not say what happened that would have the car smash through the wall.
