The Mustang's bumper flew off during the accident.
It happened around 11 p.m. at Highway 6 and Huffmeister.
Harris County deputies said a black Mustang was going very fast on Highway 6 and lost control, slamming onto the brakes and sliding about 100 yards before hitting a Chrysler LHS with a father and two kids inside.
The two men jumped out of the Mustand fled the scene, but several witnesses pointed deputies in the right direction and they were caught.
The father was taken to the hospital by ambulance. His two children, ages 8 and 9, were taken to Children's Memorial Hermann by LifeFlight.
Deputies said the driver apparently didn't have a license or insurance.
