Man walking from Houston to LA hopes to help the homeless

06:25 PM CDT on Saturday, March 24, 2007

From 11 News staff reports

A single man has started on a long journey to help the homeless.

Noah Rattler is a recent graduate from Prairie View A&M University.

He began an 1800-mile walk to Los Angeles near downtown Houston Saturday to bring attention to the plight of America’s homeless population and to raise money for SEARCH, a charity dedicated to helping them.

“I feel it’s time to stop ignoring it, and I feel we as a people can get together and really make some strong moves toward handling the situation,” Rattler said.

If all goes well, Rattler expects to complete his journey to LA at the end of June.
