Students who knew suspects not surprised at beating

11 News tried to contact the families of the suspects who allegedly savagely beat a 16-year-old, but no one answered the door at their homes. Both the victim and the suspects at one time attended Klein Collins High School, where students are shocked about the crime. "He has a really cocky attitude but he's really a sweet person," said a student. They knew the victim because he's a junior at the school, but he's been attending an alternative school because of a fight. "He's a real nice guy. He's very athletic. He's real involved with the school. He's just a real nice guy," said student Chris Briseno. Many also knew one of the suspects, David Tuck. Students said he was "trouble". "It doesn't surprise me. I figured he would have done something like that," said a student. "He always tells me that he would have and that he was going to one day and that was his destination for him to come to school was to find someone to put in their right mind," said student Anita Stockstill. Students said Turner used to attend the high school, and Tuck was in class earlier this week. "I don't hang out with those people any more," said Autumn Latham. She was supposed to have been at the party that night, but she didn't go. One of the two suspects in an assault on a 16-year-old boy was denied bond Thursday. "He's currently charged with aggravated sexual assault for causing the penetration of the victim's anus with a pipe," prosecutor Mike Trent said. KHOU-TV David Henry Tuck appeared in court Thursday. As much trouble as 17-year-old David Henry Tuck faces, it's nothing compared to the problems of his alleged victim. The teen was beaten, sexually assaulted and covered with bleach is in extremely critical condition. "I was told this morning that it's more likely than not that he may not live," Trent said. Police said it happened outside a house party thrown by a 12-year-old girl in the 21300 block of Glenbranch in Spring on Saturday night. The victim was left in the yard for hours before anyone called for help. At first glance, it looks like any other house, patriotic, even faithful. But what sheriff's investigators say happened here is closer to hellish. "It was kinda shocking," neighbor Nancy Benavidez said. Sunday morning, Nancy Benavidez saw the ambulance next door and wishes she hadn't seen who they brought out. "He was severely beaten. Oh, I couldn't believe it. His face was so swollen. Lips everything. There was just blood everywhere," she said. Investigators said there were several youths at the house Saturday night. According to neighbors, there was plenty of traffic and no apparent adult supervision. At about 11:30 p.m. the victim allegedly tried to kiss the 12-year-old girl who lives there. Investigators said that's when Tuck and Keith Robert Turner took the victim into the backyard and viciously beat him. "They stomped his head with their boots while cursing him as being a Mexican," said Lt. John Denholm. That could be considered a hate crime, but the attack didn't end there. KHOU-TV Police said 17-year-olds David Henry Tuck and Keith Robert Turner are showing no remorse. The suspects stripped the victim and sexually assaulted him with a PVC pipe, causing massive internal injuries. Then, investigators said, the two suspects tried to cover their tracks. "They also poured bleach all over his body in hopes of destroying any evidence they may have left," said Lt. Denholm. The victim was found 12 hours later in the backyard by another one of the kids who had attended the party. He was barely clinging to life. Both Tuck and Turner face aggravated sexual assault charges and are in custody at the Harris County Jail. Investigators said they are showing no remorse. If convicted, both could face up to life in prison. The charges will be upgraded to capital murder if the victim dies, which could mean the death penalty. Investigators said this isn't the first run in with the law for Tuck. He's on probation for a cross burning incident in Liberty County.
