The graphic images of debris strewn all over part of the Beltway give good indication of just how horrific the accident was.

Cynthia Gould lost two grandchildren and her son.

“My grandkids didn’t have to go through this, my son, nobody,” Cynthia Gould said.

But it’s the grief that his gripped the grandmother that pretty much says it all.

Gould lost two grandchildren and her son when a blue truck ran a stop sign Saturday night.

It was struck on the driver’s side by a red truck, and four people died.

Gould wants somebody to tell her how and why.

“Yes, I do,” she said. “I want something done quick, fast and in a hurry, because this is not right.”

Killed were 9-year Daysha Washington, her 8-year-old brother Devonte McKnight and their uncle Donald Andrews.

Authorities said they were among the large group riding in the open bed of the truck, which, according to Texas Department of Public Safety, is against the law.

It’s something Gould already knew.

“I’m really upset because I tell them all the time those kids aren’t supposed to be there,” Gould said. “That is not the place for the kids to be.”

Also injured in the accident were Cristina Andrews, mother of the two children killed, and her brother Germaine.

Both are still in the hospital recovering from their injuries.

Authorities tell us alcohol contributed to the crash.

An accident that took four lives and injured three times as many, left a family looking comfort and praying for peace.

“Please Lord let justice be served because this didn’t have to happen,” Gould said.

The fourth person killed was a man from New Orleans, and he has not yet been identified.

Officials said because alcohol was involved and children were illegally riding in the back of an open bed truck, the owner or driver of the blue truck could face criminal charges.
