HARRIS COUNTY -- Two parents were shot in a bloody home invasion robbery
Wednesday in the 7900 block of Belterrraza in far southwest Harris
County. Sheriff's deputies are looking for two teenage boys they believe
are responsible.
AIR 11 Blood covered the victims' front porch, but both are expected to survive.
Just after 2 p.m. the teenagers allegedly knocked on the victims' door and asked for directions.
The homeowners told the two how to get to where they were going, but the boys then pushed their way inside.
During the struggle, both the man and woman who live in the home were shot in the leg while standing on the front porch. They were taken to Memorial Southwest Hospital and are expected to be ok.
Deputies said a neighbor heard the gunshots and then heard someone pounding on her door. The victims' daughter was at the door screaming that her parents had just been shot.
AIR 11
The daughter and teenage son were hurt during the incident.
"It was a fight. Fight, my dad and one of them. And then they shot them both. And then my mom called Joyce then called the police then the other guy shot my mom" said Joel John, victims' son.
It is unclear if the suspects took anything from the home.
People in the Mission Bend subdivision have been on guard for a while. There have been more than 30 driveway robberies in the area within the last year, including six in the last month. The suspects in all of them match the ones from Wednesday's home invasion as well as the getaway vehicle, a small dark colored car. But investigators are still gathering clues before definitively making that conclusion.
