Two Metro light rail accidents in one day

Police say the woman made an illegal left turn in front of the train.
A female driver was injured Friday morning after she made a left in front of a Metro light rail train turn near the intersection of Fannin and Montrose.

The woman was transported by ambulance to the hospital and her condition is unknown at this time.

According to initial reports, the car was struck by the train and dragged some distance before coming to a stop.

The passengers on the train were transported by bus to their final destinations.

The second Metro light rail accident of the day involved a woman police say was making an illegal left turn.

The accident happened after 4 p.m. Friday near Fannin and Oakdale. The woman was taken to the hospital but her condition was not immediately known.

A Metro police officer said this has happened before at this exact location, and that it is clearly marked with a "Do No Enter" sign.
