HOUSTON – A source tell KHOU 11 Sports that the Houston Texans have offered rookie wide receiver Travis Labhart a spot on the practice squad if he clears waivers.

Labhart was released by the team on Saturday.

The former Texas A&M star was very productive during the preseason. Labhart had 6 catches for 67 yards. He also caught a two-point conversion in a game against the Broncos.

After Thursday's preseason finale against San Francisco, Labhart was unsure of what his standing was with the team.

"Bring critical of myself, there's a lot of things that I look back that I wish I could have done better," Labhart said. "Whatever happens is God's plan for me and I'm truly confident in that."

The Texans roster currently sits at 53 players.
