DALLAS — A former Grand Prairie teacher has been found guilty of manslaughter and using her vehicle as a weapon in the January 2013 hit-and-run death of six-year-old John Raidy.

Tammy Lowe was found guilty Thursday.

On Wednesday the jury was shown several photos police took of Lowe's car. Grand Prairie police lead traffic investigator Tommy Hendrick testified that the evidence is clear.

"The defendant ran a red light and ignored the crosswalk," he told the jury.

When asked if he saw skid marks at the scene of the deadly crash, Hendrick said, "No."

Lowe admited she should have stopped to try and help the boy she struck, but added she was not guilty of intentionally and knowingly killing him.

The trial has now moved into the sentencing phase.
