MONTAGUE COUNTY, Texas — The husband and son of a very popular administrator at Manvel High School were killed in a plane crash Friday afternoon on Montague County, northwest of Fort Worth.

Investigators with the Texas Department of Public Safety have identified the two victims as 51-year-old Lawrence Liptack and 10-year-old Landon Liptack, both of Manvel.

According to FAA spokesperson Lynn Lunsford, a twin-engine Cessna 414 crashed under "unknown circumstances" just before 4 p.m. on Lone Star Road north of Bowie. The aircraft was then destroyed by fire.

News has spread among the students, teachers and community members in Manvel. In fact, they are already organizing a prayer vigil for Saturday, which will be held at 6 p.m. outside of the high school.
