HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Searchers say they have found the body of a kayaker reported missing since Saturday night in northwest Harris County.
According to Texas Equusearch, the body of Brian Conner was found around 7 a.m. Conner's wife, Terri said he went missing Saturday night as the pair were kayaking in the creek.
Conner said they were each in their own kayak when her husband's capsized. She thinks he had a diabetic episode out on the water.
Unable to reach him, she paddled to shore and called 9-1-1. By the time she and emergency crews returned, they saw his overturned canoe and his life vest floating in the water, but were unable to locate Brian.
Authorities and volunteers continue their search through the night and into Sunday.
Harris County's airboat searched on water, Texas Equusearch volunteers walked up and down the creek's banks for several miles, and even brought in a special boat to aid with the search.
The crews resumed their search Monday morning before discovering Conner's body in the water near where he was last seen.
