HOUSTON -- A mother was killed and her infant was injured in a crash in southwest Houston early Tuesday, police said.
According to the Houston Police Department, the incident happened on Chimney Rock at N. Braeswood around 6:15 a.m.
Police said the mom allegedly ran a red light at the intersection, causing a Ford Excursion to broadside her BMW sedan.
The mom was pronounced dead at the scene. Her infant was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Excursion was sent to the hospital with minor injuries, but two other passengers were not hurt.
The victims' identities were not released.
