HOUSTON -- An ambulance transporting a patient was struck by a pickup truck in west Houston early Friday.

The incident happened before 6 a.m. on Westpark Drive at W. Houston Center Boulevard.

The Community V.F.D. ambulance was traveling northbound when the driver of a black pickup hit it at the intersection. A second Community ambulance was called in to continue transporting the patient.

No serious injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

There was no official word on charges relating to the incident.
