POLK COUNTY, Texas -- Deputies seized more than 6,000 marijuana plants from a farm near Livingston, Texas.

The plants were growing off Highway 146 east of FM 943.

"We were alerted by a neighbor who found a water well and a generator buried in the ground in a bunker type situation," said Polk County Sheriff Kenneth Hammack. "We secured a search warrant for the property and discovered 5 different fields of marijuana.

Deputies also found a campground with 5 tents, but it appeared the growers were gone, no arrests were made.

The bust happened just a few miles from where deputies discovered 100,000 pot plants week ago.

That discovery closed down one of the largest marijuana grow operations in Texas history.

Neighbors say news of the marijuana farms in this rural community is frightening.

"You think you live in a small sleepy town and yet you have this," said Polk County resident Jarrett Turner. "It doesn't matter where you go, you are going to have drugs, but not to this magnitude.
