SHIRLEY, Ark. (KTHV) -- On Sunday, deputies in Van Buren County responded to a call from a man who had been in a vehicle accident with one other person two days earlier.

According to Sheriff Scott Bradley, it had taken the man who called two days to get out of the wreckage to get in touch with authorities.

Deputy Hess said that when he arrived on scene, he found a vehicle upside down and off the road in a deep ravine, with a man lying partially under the vehicle. Douglas Kent Knoble, 58, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Deputy Hess, the accident happened at around 4:30 a.m. Friday on New Road.
