HOUSTON -- Police in far southeast Houston said someone ripped the front doors off a Family Dollar during an early-morning smash-and-grab.

It all happened around 3 a.m. on Howard near Allendale.

Police said someone tied a chain to the store's front doors and then used a vehicle to pull them off. They went inside and took a gumball machine before getting back in the vehicle and speeding away.

Apparently the doors went down the street too as they dragged behind the suspects' vehicle. The doors were never located.
