HOUSTON – An alleged stop sign-runner led police on a brief chase, resulting in a fiery crash that shut down Westheimer overnight.
It all happened around 2 a.m. Friday near Fountain View, just west of the Galleria.
Houston police said an officer spotted a Nissan sedan run a stop sign while turning onto Westheimer. The driver, however, refused to pull over and sped away.
The driver crashed into the back of a pickup truck, sending the truck into a nearby pole. The pole snapped in half and fell while the sedan caught fire and burned.
All three suspects in the Nissan tried to run away, police said, but they were quickly caught.
