HOUSTON -- Someone took a safe and left behind a lot of damage at a north side clothing store, Houston police said early Friday.

The incident happened around 3 a.m. at the Citi Trends on Imperial Valley at Greens Road.

An alarm went off at the business, and when officers arrived they found a big hole in the side with no suspect or suspects around.

Police said it appeared the crooks used a vehicle to smash the hole into the building. They then took a safe inside.

There's about $20,000 in damage, officials estimate.

Investigators will review video from surveillance cameras on the property.
