FRIENDSWOOD, Texas -- Police are warning residents about a fake contractor who's making the rounds in Friendswood.

The woman, who identified herself to at least one resident as "Tammy", is described as "good looking", "friendly" and "authoritative".

She disguises herself a security lighting contractor and surveyor to earn people's trust.

Darrell, who doesn't want to give his last name, says she is very convincing. The woman knocked on his back door and first apologized for a truck blocking his driveway.

"She said, did you not call? Well, somebody called," explained 73-year-old Darrell. "She said, you're going to be seeing a lot of me around here. We're going to put in some security lights and also fiber optics cable for data and television and internet."

It didn't make any sense to Darrell and his wife. However, he says the well dressed woman seemed to know what she was talking about.

"We tried to figure out what she was talking about and who we needed to call to stop it," said Darrell. "She tried to make us feel good about the whole thing."

That's when Darrell believes her accomplice entered his home through an open garage. The woman led Darrell and his wife to the back of their property to explain the installation. During that time, she was using a walkie-talkie to communicate with another person.

"The next day, I noticed my wedding band was missing, and then my wife noticed her class ring was missing," he said. "They didn't take credit cards, didn't even take money."

Friendswood Police believe the same woman has also targeted at least two other homes.

In one case, a homeowner in the 100 block of Dorado Drive let the woman in her home, but nothing was reported missing.

Police say another homeowner in the 100 block of Briarcreek Drive refused to let the woman inside.

"She's obviously got a lot of talent. She's got a lot of ability. She should right fiction. She could act. She could do all sorts of things to make legitimate money," added Darrell. "Why not get an honest job instead of sneaking around."

The female suspect is described as an attractive Hispanic, mid-to-late 20s, 5'4" to 5'5" tall, slight build.

She was driving a newer model, white four-door mid-sized sedan. Currently, there is no description available on her accomplice(s).
