NEWORLEANS-- The person of interest in the Bourbon Street shooting on Sunday has turned himself in to police Wednesday.
One person, Brittany Thomas, 21, of Hammond, died and nine others were injured after gunshots rang out early Sunday morning on BourbonStreet.
Justin Odom, 20, surrendered to Gretna police Wednesday. NOPD homicide detectives interviewed him, and while no charges have been filed against him in the Bourbon Street case, he was booked on unrelated charges, including outstanding traffic attachments and a shoplifting warrant.
After turning himself in to police, NOPD homicide detectives interviewed Odom with his attorney present, according to Tyler Gamble, a spokesman for Mayor Mitch Landrieu. Following the interview, Odom was arrested and booked on unrelated warrants in Jefferson Parish, which included outstanding traffic attachments and a shoplifting warrant.
Odom is known to associate with a white male named either Josh or Joe who is also a person of interest in this investigation.
Police haven't named Odom a suspect in this case.
