DALLAS-- Five boys had to be rescued from a flooded creek Thursday as heavy rains poured over South Dallas.

Police and Fire-Rescue teams were called to Town Creek in the 300 block of GlenOaks Boulevard, south of Ledbetter Drive and west of Interstate 35 in OakCliff.

Officials tell WFAA-TV that the boys were skipping school and playing in the creek when they were swept away by high waters.

All of the boys are said to be okay, but exhausted from fighting the current. The last child rescued was taken to Children's MedicalCenter of Dallas.
