PEARLAND, Texas Pearland police are investigating after a 16-year-old girl was found dead inside a home Friday afternoon. Her death has been ruled a homicide. The victim, Arrijana Hill, was a student at Dawson High School in Pearland.
Arrijana s death left everyone who knew her shocked and saddened.
She was a small, sweet person, said Dawson High school counselor-secretary Brenda Laird. It just kind of took my breath away to think that a member of our family, cause that s what we are, a close-knit faculty and with our students.
Pearland Police confirmed that the teen was found dead in a home inside a gated community on E. Cedar Hollow Drive near McHard. Another woman, the homeowner, made the discovery and called 911. Police got to the home just after 5 p.m.
It kind of made me wonder if it was somebody that she knew and that was a sad thought. To think that that could happen to that sweet girl right at the end of the school year, Laird said.
While it s a very different situation, this apparently will be the second tragic loss at Dawson High in the last two weeks. Just recently a girl lost her battle with Leukemia.
Two lives lost from our family, said Laird. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. I can t even imagine having to deal with this situation. Think of her and offer up prayers.
On Monday, students will see something all too familiar on their campus.
Being in the counseling office, there will be counselors for all the students, said Laird.
Anyone with information that could help solve this crime and bring Arrijana and her family justice is urged to call Brazoria County Crimestoppers at 800-460-2222.
