HOUSTON After nearly a month after fracturing his hand, Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley is set to make his return to the line-up on Monday against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Beverley took part in shoot-around on Saturday morning before the team s game with the Milwaukee Bucks, anxious to get back on the floor.

It was fun being back out there with the guys especially with the type of energy that I can provide, Beverley said after practice. I just can t wait to get back out there with the guys.

Beverley broke his hand back on December 21st in a victory against the Detroit Pistons. He has been practicing all week with the team.

I felt like I could have played last Thursday or a couple of games before that, Beverley said. I don t know, there is something about my body that I heal fast and I m able to endure a lot of pain. I m just happy to be back on the court and mix it up with these guys.

His teammates are happy he s back too.

We need him, we need Omer, we need our guys, we don t even know what it s like to play healthy and full, guard Jeremy Lin said. I don t know how many games we ve had everybody healthy so we re going to welcome back everybody with open arms right now.

Before going out with the injury, Beverley was averaging 9.6 points and 1.3 steals per game. His real impact should be felt on the defensive end as the team has struggled defending the perimeter in his absence.
