HOUSTON Two good Samaritans pulled a woman from a burning vehicle Wednesday morning after she crashed into a gas pump and lost consciousness in northwest Harris County.

Harris County Sheriff s deputies said the woman was traveling north on Highway 249 near Tomball around 11 a.m. when she lost control, struck another vehicle and two gas pumps.

The woman was knocked unconscious as her car caught fire.

A man who worked at a nearby business saw the fire and ran over to help. He and his co-worker smashed out the window and pulled the woman to safety.

Very intense. I remember praying to God, asking him to make sure the car didn t blow up, said Chris Reich. I m still a little out of it to be honest with you. Still shaken up.

The woman woke up as they were pulling her out. She was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

She was transported for very minor injuries, unrelated to the accident, said Lt. Wayne Schultz with the Precinct 4 Constable s Office.

A gas station employee was also taken to the hospital after suffering an apparent anxiety attack.

Damage to the pumps is estimated at $90,000.

This is the second time the pump has been hit by a car coming off of Highway 249.

Highway 249 was closed for awhile while deputies investigated the crash.
