HOUSTON Armed bank robbers who fled from a bank Wednesday near the Houston Community College Southwest Campus triggered a safety alert at the school.

The robbery happened just before 2 p.m. at the Houston Community Bank located on Murphy Road in Stafford.

The armed robbers demanded cash and then took off in a white SUV. Police found it a few blocks away. There was pink paint around the windows; the result of what investigators believed was a dye pack that exploded.

HCC administrators sent text messages to students warning them to be careful.

The FBI and Stafford police were still looking for the two men.

There were no injuries reported.
