HOUSTON Police are looking fora man whoallegedly opened fire on two women inside his moving car and then pushed one of them toher death on the Katy Freeway.

The subsequent investigation and cleanup closed the westbound lanes of the freeway from late Thursday night until 5:30 a.m. Friday, according to Houston TranStar.

Police said it was around 8:20 p.m. when some kind of altercation occurred in a blue Dodge Magnum with three people inside. Aman driving the vehicle pulled out a weapon.

One of the women jumped or was pushed from the slow-movingcar near Westgreen Boulevard. It was unclear if she was wounded by gunfire, but Life Flight was called to transport her to the hospital. The woman, who is in her 20s, was listed in serious, but stable condition.

The second woman was shot and then pushed from the speeding car near Katy Fort Bend Road. Police said she was struck several times by other fast-moving vehicles, killing her instantly. The Harris County medical examiner was working to identity the woman, who was in her 20s, and her cause of death.

HPD said the suspect driving the Dodge kept going until he struck the back of a flatbed, spinning out of control near Exit 731. His car came to a stop in the grassy median of the freeway, and the suspect ran away on foot.

Police are trying to determine if the womenhad been kidnapped.
