ARLINGTON -- The scene at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington to buy tickets for the Texas Rangers' wild card playoff game looked a bit gloomy Thursday morning.

A small group of fans showed up to buy tickets. Those that did were interested in taking in a playoff game at the stadium, win or lose for the home team.

Just the atmosphere, said Dustin, a Texas Rangers fan. The ballpark is the place to be to watch the game.

The turnout at the ballpark for tickets last year was a grand slam. Hundreds of people lined up for tickets for the playoffs.

Fans were disappointed with Thursday's crowd.

I expected more people, one fan said.

The game isn't sold out. While some people are buying tickets online, there are plenty of seats still available. We also checked Stubhub Thursday night. More than 6,300 tickets were posted for sale.

News 8 spoke to several people who are going to the game.

Some are holding on to hope -- hoping the Rangers can rally in the postseason.

Friday's game against the Baltimore Orioles starts at 7:30 p.m.
