GEORGETOWN, Texas Georgetown Police have closed an investigation into a hit-and-run accident where an eight-year old boy was injuredat 8 p.m. Thursday, August 9th.
Charles Thurmond, 59,was chased down by a good samaritan who turned in his license plate numbers to the Georgetown Police.
Thurmondwas later charged with intoxication assault and has since bonded out of the Williamson County Jail.
KVUE News also found out Wednesday that agents with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission are now looking into where Thurmond may have been drinking before the accident happened.
If Thurmond was drinking at an establishment with a liquor license, the T.A.B.C. will investigate to see if he was overserved.Violations on the establishment s part could result in either fines or the business losing its liquor license.
Georgetown Police have now turned their investigation over to the Williamson County Grand Jury which may or may not decide to indict Thurmond.
