SAN ANTONIO -- a 15-year-old boy was hit by an 18-wheeler while walking to school on the city's northwest side Monday morning.

According to investigators, the boy was reportedly walking in an area near Braun and Leslie Roads when he was struck. Authorities said the semi-truck driver attempted to avoid hitting the teen but struck a vehicle and then the victim.

Investigators said the 15-year-old was dragged between 30 or 40 feet and was then pinned under the truck until EMS personnel arrived. The victim was transported to University Hospital in critical condition.
