MESQUITE They met as children at Mesquite First Assembly of God church. So it only makes sense that Victoria McClure and Kevin Stixrud would marry there.

On Saturday, they will.

I'm living every girl's dream right now! McClure said with a laugh.

They have a young love that knows no bounds. But sadly, time does.

The father of the bride, Joey McClure, has waged a 12-year war on gastrointestinal cancer. And now, the outlook isn't good.

I'm definitely a daddy's girl, and always have been, so it's been tough, you know, McClure said.

Stixrud's proposal came on Christmas Eve. And they thought they'd take a year to plan the perfect wedding, so they set a date for December, 2014.

But doctors treating McClure's dad said they shouldn't wait.

So they moved it up to Valentine's Day, said mother of the bride Donna McClure. But then the doctor advised us we might want to go even sooner than that.

Somehow, the church family found a way to pull off a wedding with just days to plan. Church member Kristene O'Dell is now acting as the world's busiest wedding coordinator.

And it was like our whole church stopped, and we all came together and said, 'Yes!' One person said, 'I'll pay for her dress.' One said, 'I have all these chair covers we can transform the gym in.' One person said, 'Does she have a going away outfit?' One said, 'There is a vintage car we can use,' O'Dell explained.

Then a friend reached out to radio station KLTY, which made contact with the Dallas Bridal Show. Now vendors are donating their services.

Al's FormalWear is donating tuxedos; Bowkay Designs is donating flowers; Delicious Cakes is giving a cake; Complete Music is offering a DJ; Dallas Drape & Lighting is making over the church gym where the reception will be; and Wrapped Round You Catering with Chef Rodney is donating food.

We've seen how God just wanted to pour his blessing upon this sweet family, O'Dell said. What we are experiencing in the midst of a very difficult time is joy over what is going to take place this weekend.

The gym will sparkle, the sanctuary will shine, and Victoria and Kevin will say, I do.

The donated decorations are all being kept a secret; bride and groom won't see the reception until after their vows.

We give all the glory to God for everything that's happening, Stixrud said.

We're not really paying for anything, McClure added. We're not lifting a finger. It's amazing.

She added that she's really happy that her dad will be there to see it all.

It's mixed emotions, admitted Joey McClure. Our baby is getting married! But I'm thrilled for her. She's picked a very good guy, and we're very proud of her.

We've known we were loved, but I don't think we realized the extent, Donna McClure added.

On Saturday, Victoria McClure will marry the man she loves with the man who loved her first by her side.

Just to be able to walk down the aisle and fulfill her dreams, you know? her father said. When your child's happy, you're happy. And that's all that matters.
