HOUSTON -- Investigators have a mystery on their hands after the found the body of a Hispanic man in his late teens or early twenties was found in a northeast Houston intersection.

According to the Houston Police Department, the man was apparently left for dead in the 7700 block of Romea Street early Monday morning. Police said they were called to the scene after gunshots were heard in the area.

HPD Homicide said no one actually saw the shooting take place, but they have some information to go on.

The only thing is -- a dark colored SUV was seen fleeing the scene, HPD Homicide Investigator Thomas Ferguson told KHOU 11 News.

Police have been talking with two people who heard the gunshots.

The victim, shot multiple times, was not immediately identified.
