HOUSTON - A man suffered burns to 20 percent of his body after he crashed his sport utility vehicle in far southwest Houston late Wednesday.

The Houston Police Department said the crash was reported around 9 p.m. on Hiram Clarke Road near Allum Road.

Police said the man was traveling northbound when he lost control, hitting a tree in the road s median. The vehicle then flipped and landed upright.

Police said the man was ejected from the vehicle when it rolled, and he somehow was burned.

The man was sent to the hospital in stable condition.

HPD is investigating to see what caused the crash.
