HOUSTON - One of the three suspects wanted for a brutal crime in west Houston last month has been arrested.

Investigators with the Houston Police Department said that 18-year-old Esterell Simpson was arrested in Louisiana, and is charged with murder.

Police said that Simpson and two other suspects were caught on surveillance cameras near the scene where 30-year-old Carlos Hernandez was beaten and then set on fire. Hernandez suffered burns to 92 percent of his body.

The assault happened on April 21 outside the victim s apartment on Witte Road.

Witnesses told police they saw two men beating Hernandez, and then saw a woman set him on fire. The other two suspects are still on the run.
