HOUSTON -- Former Houston former hand surgeon

Dr. Michael Brown

has been released from jail after complying with several court orders dealing with his divorce.

Brown spent 25 days in jail in this latest case.

Last month, a judge found Brown guilty of breaking the terms of the March 2011 injunction. The terms allowed him to only make reasonable purchases, but instead, he spent millions of dollars on homes and jewelry. He was originally sentenced to 180 days in jail.

Last week, Brown claimed the jail in food was giving him E. coli poisoning.

Now that Brown is out of jail, the court says it hopes to quickly finish the divorce case.
