TYLER, Texas -- Jury selection begins in the East Texas murder trial of a retired 76-year-old dentist in the fatal shooting of his 71-year-old wife.

Attorneys in Tyler will start choosing a jury Wednesday for the trial of Bobby Nichols. He s accused of killing Rosalind Nichols his wife of 26 years.

Bobby Nichols has said he screwed up when he got home the night of June 29 after drinking with his friends. He s said he doesn t remember details of the night and misses his wife, but has acknowledged shooting her in their East Texas home.

If convicted, Nichols could be sentenced to up to life in prison. He remains free on $750,000 bond.
