Police foundthe mother lyingdead in her bedroom. They also found another young man, also shot in the head, lying on a couch and gasping for air.

Police want to know what happened.

We believe there were some other people here earlier in the night. When they left, we don t know, or what their involvement may have been, said Officer Mark Coleman, Houston Police Department.

Justin Cooper is recovering in the hospital and is speaking with investigators.

The condition of the other shooting victim was unknown.

Family and friends could not imagine that anyone would want to hurt such a good woman.

I really don t know what would trigger them to hurt Miss Frankie like that. She was an older woman and she basically just sat on her porch, a family friend said. She was a good mother. She has four boys, you know, and one is in a mental ward right now.
