HOUSTON More ancient bones have been uncovered right in the path of the Grand Parkway project, the Houston Chronicle reported.

The first ancient burial site was found back in July and now, only about 15 feet away, bones have been recovered that could be 9,000 years old.

The Texas Department of Transportation wants to remove the bones and continue building the $322 million project, but historians are asking them to wait.

A judge is expected to rule on the issue this week.
