HOUSTON Thunderstorms popped up again late Thursday, with lightning that created scary moments for some individuals.
In Pasadena a bolt of lightning split a tree and sent it crashing down onto a carport.
The homeowner and her kids had been standing under the carport just seconds earlier.
I could have been standing at that door, barely walking in that door, and that carport and that tree could have been on top of me and my kids, said Veronica Rodriguez.
Neighbors pitched in to help clean up the mess.
Lightning also struck at the Port of Houston hitting a man around 5 p.m.
Authorities released little information, only saying the man was awake and breathing as he was taken to the hospital.
