HOUSTON-If you're looking for something fun to do this weekend, but you don't want to break the bank, you're in luck!

All you need to do is choose between water and mud.

If you're into the water, the Texas Parks and Wildlife staffers are hosting a free fishing clinic Saturday at the Galveston Island State Park.

Starting at 8 a.m., staffers will offer instruction on how to tie tackle, how to cast a line and how to stay safe while fishing.

At the end of the class, participants will get to fish in a pond stocked with redfish.

The staffers will provide all the equipment, and kids get to take home fishing gear or a tackle box as a souvenir.

If mud is more your style, check out the chinking event at the Jesse H. Jones Park and Nature Center in Humble.

It starts at 1 p.m. and lasts until 3 p.m.

Families can come out, mix up some mud and place it between the logs of the old log cabins at the park.

The kids love it, and it's free!

Parents should make sure the kiddos wear clothes appropriate for some serious mud-slinging.
