BEAVERTON, Ore. Paramedics at a Beaverton fire station delivered two babies during this weekend s snowstorm because their moms couldn t make it to the hospital on ice-covered roads.

Paramedic Jessie Fitzpatrick helped deliver one of the babies in the back of an ambulance. He said it was an unforgettable experience.

We were just trying to get to the hospital but didn't quite make it in time, Fitzpatrick said, with a smile. So we did what we had to do and what an awesome experience - a baby boy came out and healthy and happy.

Fitzpatrick works out of Beaverton station No. 67 where Sunday morning a second baby was delivered by another paramedic.

Both babies and their families are doing well.
