CYPRESS, Texas -- After a brief walk through, Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia emerged from a blood-stained house offering hints of what his investigators were focusing their attention on.

We have information that there were several individuals at the party that may have had some affiliation to some gangs, Garcia said. We re chasing those leads down.

Sources said those leads point to one particular gang well known by people who were at the birthday party that erupted in gunfire. However, a lot of those people were too frightened to single-out the gang by name.

It s gangs everywhere you go, said one young man.

They just started shooting out of nowhere, added a young woman.

Authorities describe the shooters as two men, ages 17 and 22.

Some of the victims attend Cypress Springs High School. And among some classmates, there was a growing sense of anger aimed at the suspects who remain on the run.

I hope something bad happen to them, said Layla Bertrand. That was stupid. They started opening up and firing.

School officials pledged to have added security and counselors in place Monday morning. And the sheriff had stern words for anyone threatening more violence.

I want to effectively warn anyone who has retaliation on the brain. I warn you because I ll put you in jail.
