COVINGTON, La. A Northshore woman and her ex-boyfriend were arrested and charged with aggravated rape of the woman s daughter, the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff s Office said Tuesday.

The girl was immediately taken into custody by the Department of Children and Family Services and interviews were conducted by the Children s Advocacy Center.
Over the course of the investigation, detectives learned that the man and woman both participated in the acts, which occurred over a number of years, beginning when the girl was five years old, Strain said.
The name of the woman and man weren t disclosed by the sheriff s office in order to protect the victim s identity.
Strain said the man cooperated with detectives, corroborating the victim s statements. The woman, meanwhile, has refused to make any statements, the sheriff said.
Both are being held at the St. Tammany Parish Jail, booked with one count of aggravated rape. They re being held on $300,000 bonds each.
