HOUSTON A man who was trying to sell his Ford F-150 pickup truck was shot Thursday night when he was carjacked by a potential buyer who responded to a Craigslist ad, according to Houston police.

Michael SiFuentes, 20, and his friend went to the Flamingo Chill restaurant on Airline at Brenda to meet with a potential buyer around 9:30 pm. The potential buyer and another suspect were waiting in the parking lot when the owner arrived.

During the meeting, one of the suspects pulled out a gun, shot SiFuentes in the chest and drove away in the truck. The other suspect left in the same vehicle they drove to the meeting.

The victim s friend called 911.

He was there helping my brother, trying to keep him awake. He was breathing in and out, trying to keep him responsive said Timothy SiFuentes, the victim s brother.

Michael SiFuentes was rushed to Ben Taub Hospital in critical condition. His friend was not injured.

The victim s brother said he was trying to sell his modified truck for $5,500 to help support his girlfriend and her 2-year-old daughter.

He s very honest, he s very loveable. He s so happy that s why everyone is so shocked it happened to him said Timothy SiFuentes.

Both suspects remain on the loose.

Timothy SiFuentes had a message for them.

It pisses me off, it really does, people would do something like that, the brother said. He didn t deserve this. I hope you re happy, you got what you wanted. You hurt our family over a truck. That s sad, it s pathetic.
